Counter-Rotating Dual Lane Vibratory Feeders

Looking to maximize your production but limited on space?

In this recent application, we integrated counter-rotating vibratory feeder bowls with dual lane vibratory inline tracks to increase throughput in a compact space.

The feeder bowls are mounted on a single base, creating an opposing design that delivers a space-saving and efficient automation solution.

The Application & Solution

In this application, we’re orienting plastic clips in Counter-Rotating Vibratory Feeder Bowls.

  • Product: Clips
  • Rate: 30 parts per minute (PPM)
  • Features: storage hopper, dual tool steel track with inline drive

The bulk clips are metered into each bowl from the included storage hoppers. The feeder bowls singulate and orient the clips, discharging them onto 2 vibratory inline tracks. By using 2 bowls with dual-lane tracks we're able to provide 4 outfeeds in within a compact space.

Benefits of the Design

  • Increased throughput: The use of two lanes allows for higher feeding rates compared to single-lane feeders. The opposing motion of the lanes enables a continuous flow of material, maximizing throughput.
  • Enhanced sorting capabilities: Counter-rotating dual lane feeders can be used for sorting or segregating different components or materials. By leveraging the opposing motion, the feeder can divert specific items to different lanes or discharge points.
  • Versatility and flexibility: These feeders are adaptable to various applications and products. They can handle a wide range of sizes, shapes, and weights, making them ideal for a variety of industries including automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals, packaging, and more!
  • Space-efficient design: Dual lane feeders offer a compact footprint while still providing high throughput. They can be integrated into existing production lines or systems without requiring excessive space.
